This is Cavallino Classic Weekend in the Palm Beach area of South Florida and I headed out to the track yesterday to see some vintage Ferraris racing on Palm Beach International Raceway and some new models around the pits.
I used the Nikon D7000 and varied the settings in search of a way to make a still photo appear to have movement, so I was panning and clicking to attempt to capture the movement. Please note that I greatly reduced the size of the image as I shot them in both RAW and JPEG high and were too large to upload. I was using the Tamron 18mm - 270mm Zoom Lens and for most of the shots, I was between 200mm - 270mm.
Here's the first batch and if you want me to upload more, just give me the word and I'll start adding them to this thread.

I happened to see a McClaren...

And, an Augusta...

Great shots, amazing to see the amount of body roll then (older cars) compared to the newer stuff but then design and top end is light years different too.
...soak it all in, it's a game you can't win. Enjoy the ride.
You are doing a great job panning. "S" mode 1/60 shutter will give you some motion blurr but make it harder to pan.
Excellent job.
Excellent job.

I'm hoping to have a video up in the next few days that will highlight one of the newest cars in existence! Until then, here's some more vintage Ferrari photos:

Thanks! It really helps to have a camera that actually activates the shutter when you press the button!
